What Are Non-Traditional Occupations

"The US Department of Labor defines a non-traditional career as one in which 25% or less of   those employed across the field are women. That encompasses a range of occupations, from architects and civil engineers, to computer programmers, mechanical engineers, and detectives.

Some of the once male-dominated jobs for women that had ceased to fall under the Department of Labor’s non-traditional designation during the two-decade period of 1988-2008 include chemists, lawyers, physicians, and correctional officers."

Our goal is to expand and develop skills-sets (hallmarks) to elevate parity!

The vision or aspiration of this Summit is to make every plausible attempt to align with organizations sharing interests to build parity and improve gender equality (private and public).

Strategically, the method being introduced is 3-fold endeavor:

  1. Identify what are non-traditional and high-growth industries;
  2. Prepare/Incubate women to garner skills in those industries that pay higher wages;
  3. Design/Align with private-public partnerships to encourage set-aside programs for employment or entrepreneurial initiatives for women.

The vision is aimed toward building awareness and align with the already-established National Strategic 5- to 10-Year Plan (5-10-Y NSP) of the island-nations' (for long-term 5-10 years projects),  and try work with the gender equality goals,  befitting the demography of that indigenous sovereignty's abilities and strengths.
